Party for Cuba! exhibition invite..

PARTY FOR THE 50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE CUBAN REVOLUTION.

''Friday 2 January CHElebration party, sunny-side-up socialismo comes to North London to complete the season of goodwill, and help raise much-needed funds for the Cuba Solidarity Hurricane relief appeal. A great way to complete the season of goodwill and start the year with some revolutionary resolution.

Featuring Radio Revolucion Cuban-influenced reggae drum n ' bass, unpicking the underbelly of country the legendary Hank Wangford, the Lost Cowboys and the hottest voice on the performance poetry circuit the unmissable Luke Wright. Add the Movimientos Cuban sound system and its one of our strongest music and poetry line-ups yet and sure to inspire and entertain!

We've also have a specially commissioned photography exhibition of icons of global rebellion by the superbly talented Jess Hurd (me apparently ;o) with visual installions supplied by Simon Green of Eventful. And the night will be introduced by our special guest Cuban poet Pedro Perez Sarduy, accompanied by Gavin O'Toole and Georgina JIminez, co-editors of Che in Verse, Mick Shaw FBU National President, and Cal Jader, co-founder of Movimientos.

Presented by Philosophy Football in association with The Fire Brigades Union and Thompson's Solicitors and supported by Cuba Solidarity Campaign. Human Rights Day

Irish travellers Nora Quilligan and Danny Sheridan from Dale Farm celebrate their wedding day.

This was the third of four weddings held in quick succession by families at Dale Farm anxious to solemnize marriages before the New Year when Court of Appeal judges may rule that Basildon council can put into action its much delayed eviction operation.
